So far I started for the history and later I ilustrated it. This time I tried the opposite. It wasn’t any kind of conceptual experience – I was too much tired to write. So I give it a rest and looked around. At one o’clock of the night the sounds aren’t many when we are protectd by windows with double glasses. Two silent "Buddha Machine" on the working desk, no record spinning on the turntable, i-tunes off and… where did I left my i.pod? Among all this sounds does our planet has a sound? And if someone amplified it? A few weeks ago I saw on tv one documentary about "aurora borealis" – one of the objectives is to perceive if aurora emits a particular sound. I’m trying to guess and imagining a super drone. Hum… well, whatever.
I would like to talk about crossings in this chapter – happy crossings between people. Surelly most of you already heard something about this band called "Lali Puna" – if don’t, I really recommend; start from "Tridecoder"– they are from Munich, the lead singer has oriental looks but she sings in portuguese. A few years ago they visited Portugal for a couple of concerts and brought with them a drummer called Alexander Peterhaensel. By that time he left a cd with some songs introducing his new project - he was looking for a label that could be interested in his recent work. Fortunatly, after a long waiting, "Crónica Electrónica" decided to release one of my 2004 favourite records (tilia – vous rêvez / vous ne rêvez pas) – a three track album plus a video. Crónica Electrónica is a portuguese media label based in the city of Porto and "…expanded its activities to the field of residual arts and physical cultural artifacts, meaning: atoms, objects, commodities, value, etc...".
The final chapter of this story takes place in Barcelona – the place where everything seems to be happening. Tiago Pina (Miuk), one of my good friends moved to Barcelona a couple of years ago and by any reason was introduced to Alexander (Tilia) by a common friend. Miuk is a micro-cosmos of multiple interests that can be seen in his website. Now Miuk and Tilia are working together in the field of music – Tilia in Germany and Miuk in Barcelona – God bless new technologies! Sometimes they come together for studio sessions and concert experiences. Waiting impatiently for the printed result!
Our neighbour is no longer the guy/girl from the next door.
Love to you Jettoki! ;^)
