CHAPTER TWO (by Hugo Oliveira)

Is it possible to make anything new in music universe?
Unless you invent teleportation using sounds – the sound of teleportation :^) - I sincerely believe that everything in music is done. There’s no use thinking about being very cool experimenting with wires and circuits. The result will always have a reference in the past. This is based not only in what I listen but mostly in what I don’t listen. New technologies and software are so easy to obtain and available for almost everyone - at this moment someone is trying what you are thinking – fortunate if you are trying what they are thinking. So what’s the point? Enjoy music – loose the burden of being a scientist and start to feel music as a "pot-pourri". This is the best time for music. Yes, I’m aware that pygmies from central Africa aren’t familiar with techno music – everything is relative of course.
Is it possible to experience something new in visual arts? I wan’t to believe that there are a lot of things to do and see. Can you imagine carving one big heart out of Australia? One big pink shape "Christo’s" size – only perceptible from outer-space. Or everyone of us putting the clothes off and sew this big bikini for the planet to wear – can you feel the warm weather? Is fashion ruling?
Anyway this is the kind of thing that Chiara Figone could never let pass without printing it in her fantastic magazine. Uovo magazine is an Italian seasonal magazine that introduce us to the most relevant contemporary creations – music, visuals…
Every number is printed only in one color (actually the last one is subtitled "spectrum"). Yes I know that magazines are not a very new stuff but if you can get me one by ten euros with the same contents as Uovo I will offer you a dinner (I will choose the restaurant).
So this is my second choice for the island – Uovo could than be the "New Earh" diary.
…it even brings one CD compilation curated by one D*I*R*T*Y* Diamond!
But I should save that for chapter three.
