I’ll start by saying that I had to ask my son to write this down in english, since I’m not good at it and don’t give a damn. I miss when French was everybody’s second language around here. Praise Serge Gainsbourg! I don’t even know why I was asked to write here, but you know what they say, Don’t you ever close a door, you may need to flee through it one day. I mean, I know these people, and can obviously understand why they’re fans, it happens all the time, so I guess that’s enough to be a part of this and I’m glad to help young people with their little projects.
I’ve worked with CãoCeito before, in one of their projects where they presented all their publications at the time, and found myself performing alongside with my friend Canta Preciosa (She dragged me to it actually… I guess she’ll soon be writing here too, you’ll love to read her story). Anyway, these guys put up a great show, as they always do, and brought new interesting stuff to Evora, where the thing was held. I confess it was good to be part of it.
I was born close to Evora, so it felt good going back. There was nobody there I knew though, because I was young when I came to Lisbon. I came with my mother and sister Georgette (my father was never there, as he was an Admiral and had to be working all the time. I later discovered the bastard had a family and we were the others. Wanker.)
Mother cleaned houses for a living, and I had to take care of my sister while she was out. Let me tell you that was a big part of who I am now, since then she and I got to an arrangement, in which she would provide some services to my friends and I would take care of the much more difficult management and accounting tasks – I was always good to Georgette. And you have to admire my entrepreneurship at the time, being only 16, especially bringing my 13-old sister with me.
Time passed, and the business grew up to be the best in Lisbon’s night entertainment circuit, being loved and envied by all. My empire is now growing everyday, and some day I will be able to reach Evora with the services I provide, which will somehow be the completion of a perfect circle.
